INTERNSHIP ACADEMY


A variety of internship opportunities exist within the Department's various Divisions and satillite centers. The academy provides a consistent structure for student interns at the Department, as well as for DHS supervisors and managers who serve as liaisons between the student and his/her field supervisor.


APPLICATION PROCESS
  1. Students complete DHS employment application process, including resume, fingerprints, and background checkpaperwork.
  2. 1)A background check is completed on the applicant.
  3. Students are interviewed by appropriate supervisor or manager and assigned an Internship Liaison.
  4. Intern submits request for computer access to state computer system & provided training.
  5. Formative assessments are conducted to determine the level of learning taking place.
  6. Upon conclusion of internship, an exit interview is conducted that provides interactive feedback about the intern and the DHS process.
